PrivNotesPro is designed as a privacy-focused, local-first application. While the app operates primarily offline, it utilizes limited internet connectivity to enhance the user experience through link previews and external web access.

1. Information Collection and Use

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal notes or files to any external servers.

• Note Content, Media & Transcriptions: All text, sketches, checklist items, images, videos, and voice-transcribed notes remain stored exclusively on your device's local private database. Priv Notes Pro operates zero developer cloud servers and collects no personal data.
• Link Metadata Fetching: When you input a URL, the app fetches metadata (title/description) directly from the third-party site. We do not track or store your URL history.
• No User Profiling: We do not track your behavior, usage patterns, or identity.

2. Device Permissions

The app requests minimal permissions to maintain your privacy:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively for real-time speech-to-text voice dictation when you deliberately tap the microphone button. Voice audio is processed ephemerally in temporary memory (RAM) via your device's native operating system speech engine solely to transcribe speech into your note, and is immediately discarded. No audio recordings (.mp3, .wav) are ever created or saved to local storage, and zero voice data is ever transmitted to or stored on Priv Notes Pro developer servers.
• Internet (INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used solely to fetch metadata for link previews and to allow you to open external links.
• Biometrics (USE_BIOMETRIC): Used to secure the app locally. Biometric data is handled by the Android system; the app never accesses or stores your fingerprint/face data.
• Photo & File Selection: PrivNotesPro uses the Android System Photo Picker. This ensures the app does not have broad access to your photo library; it only accesses the specific files you explicitly select.

3. Third-Party & System Services

• Platform Operating System Services: The app utilizes your device's native operating system capabilities (such as Android platform speech recognition and on-device ML Kit handwriting recognition). Audio transcription is handled directly via system APIs without retention by Priv Notes Pro. Priv Notes Pro does not partner with third-party ad networks, data brokers, or analytics providers.
• On-Device Processing: The app uses Google ML Kit for link previews and digital ink recognition. All processing occurs locally on your device and no data is sent to Google servers for these features.
• External Links: Interactions with third-party websites via links are subject to those sites' own privacy policies.
• No Analytics/Ads: PrivNotesPro does not contain third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

4. Microphone Access & Voice Dictation Privacy

PrivNotesPro features private voice-to-text dictation that allows you to transcribe spoken words into notes without compromising your personal privacy:

• Ephemeral Processing (RAM Only): When you tap the microphone icon, voice audio is streamed ephemerally in temporary device memory (RAM) solely for the duration of the transcription. The acoustic data is discarded immediately after words appear in your note.
• Zero Audio Storage: PrivNotesPro never creates, saves, records, or caches any audio files (such as .mp3, .wav, or .m4a) to your device's physical storage or SD card.
• Zero Developer Cloud Transmission: We operate zero cloud servers, zero analytics databases, and zero tracking SDKs. Your voice, transcription text, and notes never leave your personal phone.
• Native Operating System Speech Engine: Dictation is powered directly by your device's native operating system engine (Android SpeechRecognizer). Users can achieve 100% offline speech recognition by installing their preferred language pack through Android Device Settings.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Local Storage: Your data is stored in the app’s private directory.
• No Cloud Backup: We do not provide cloud synchronization. You are responsible for backing up your data using your device's native backup tools.

6. Compliance (GDPR, CCPA, & Google Play)

PrivNotesPro complies with global privacy standards by design:

• Right to Erasure: Uninstalling the app immediately deletes all locally stored data.
• Data Portability: You manage your own backups via your device's storage.
• Children’s Privacy: Since no personal data is collected, the app is safe for all users.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy to reflect new features. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
