Cookie & Identifier Policy

Last Updated: June 16, 2026

This Cookie & Identifier Policy explains how Shadow Ronin ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies, local storage, and mobile device identifiers to enable game settings and support monetization via Google AdMob.

1. Cookies vs. Local Mobile Storage

Since the Game runs as a standalone mobile application on Android and iOS devices, it does not use standard browser HTTP cookies to store your gameplay. Instead, we use native local storage databases:

  • Android SharedPreferences: Stored locally in a secure XML file inside the private app directory. Keeps track of your coin wallet, high score, and character skins.
  • iOS UserDefaults: Native storage system on Apple devices utilized for keeping game states and volume preferences locally.

2. Third-Party Identifiers & AdMob

To serve ads, the Google AdMob SDK uses mobile advertising identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID or Apple Identifier for Advertisers - IDFA):

  • Frequency Capping: To ensure you do not see the same ad repeatedly.
  • Fraud Prevention: To detect clicking bots and prevent fraudulent traffic.
  • Ad Personalization: If you grant consent, these identifiers track preferences to serve ads matched to your interests. If you refuse consent, ads remain strictly contextual (matched only to the game content).

3. Managing Your Preferences

You can modify your consent settings at any time:

  • In-Game Settings: Open the Settings gear icon in the main menu and click "Ad Consent Settings" to reload the Google UMP prompt.
  • OS Level Opt-Out: On Android, navigate to *Settings > Google > Ads* and select "Delete Advertising ID". On iOS, navigate to *Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking* and turn off permissions.
